To improve road safety and lower the number of traffic accidents, the Sindh government updated the 1969 Sindh Motor Vehicle Rules, enacting stricter guidelines.
Age restrictions for heavy vehicles, mandatory fitness certifications, and the installation of contemporary security systems are among the new requirements, according to a notification released here, The News said.
All large commercial vehicles must now receive fitness certificates from transport department centers, according to Sharjeel Inam Memon, senior Sindh minister and minister for information, transportation, and mass transit.
Heavy fines will be applied for infractions, and all payments must be paid electronically to the Sindh government account.
