While the 12-hour fire in the solar panel warehouse was contained, operations continued late into the night to extinguish the fire in the cosmetics storage unit.
Dawn was informed by DIG-South Syed Asad Raza that the precise cause of the fire was being determined.
He claimed that while Fire Brigade and Rescue-1122 were being contacted, police had hurried to the scene and saved workers from the warehouses. He said that fire tenders from the Pakistan Air Force and Navy were also sent in after they saw how serious the situation was.
Hassaan Khan, a representative of the Sindh Government’s Rescue-1122, told Dawn that they first learned about a fire in one Ansari Godown in Hawkesbay.
When their group arrived, they discovered that the location was the solar energy warehouse.
