Texas storm trackers have found a huge hail stone the size of a pineapple that might set a new state record.
Experienced storm chasers Val and Amy Castor of KWTV in Oklahoma City found a chunk of hail over the weekend that measured about eighteen centimeters in length.
According to Val Castor, the stone resembled a pineapple in size.
“That’s the biggest hail I’ve ever seen, and I’ve been chasing storms for more than 30 years,” added the man.
Before he noticed the large piece in a ditch by the side of the road, he claimed that numerous baseball-sized hail stones had dropped as he was driving, one of which had even broken his windscreen.
“I could see it from probably 100 yards away,” he stated.
The enormous hail stone is thought to break the previous state record of 16.25 cm, which was discovered in Hondo in 2021.
The Texas state climatologist is among the handful of experts who still need to confirm it.
