NBC has reportedly ordered a pilot for Suits: L.A., a spinoff that stars Gabriel Macht, Patrick J. Adams, Meghan Markle, Sarah Rafferty, and Gina Torres. This information is according to Entertainment Tonight.
The drama is centered on Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor from New York who gained notoriety by defending the wealthiest clients in Los Angeles. Filming is scheduled to start in Vancouver in late March.
“Ted’s firm is at a crisis point, and in order to survive he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career,” reads the logline at the beginning.
The text continues, “Ted is surrounded by an amazing cast of people who blend their personal and professional lives and test their allegiance to Ted and to one another. While all of this is happening, the circumstances that drove Ted to leave everything and everyone he loved behind are gradually coming to light.”
While Aaron Korsh will continue to be the show’s original creator, executive producers David Bartis, Doug Liman, and Gene Klein will oversee the pilot episode. Victoria Mahoney is directing the production.
The announcement follows months after Deadline revealed that Aaron has been developing a new courtroom drama that would not be a reboot but instead would be modeled after CSI and NCIS.
