ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court’s (IHC) ruling prohibiting Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri from practicing law was revoked by the Supreme Court on Monday.
The case hearing was postponed to tomorrow after the Supreme Court sent notices to the appropriate parties, including the Pakistani Attorney General’s office.
A five-member constitutional bench led by Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan made the announcement in response to an appeal brought by Justice Jahangiri contesting the IHC’s verdict from September 16.
Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Justice Syed Hasan Azhar Rizvi, and Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail were among the other members of the bench.
This comes after an IHC bench consisting of Justice Mohammad Azam Khan and Chief Justice (CJ) Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar was formed.
