FBI Director Kash Patel stated Monday that the suspect in the Utah murder of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk had written a text message prior to the shooting indicating his intention to kill Kirk.
According to Patel, who appeared on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends,” detectives think Tyler Robinson also penned a physical note stating that he had the “opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk” and would do so. According to Patel, the note was destroyed, but investigators have gathered forensic proof of its existence and verified its contents through interviews.
Patel did not specify whether the written letter had been viewed prior to the attack or who had received the text message.
