Sylvester Stallone proves age is just a number. The 79-year-old “Rocky” and “Creed” star wowed fans over the weekend with a rare gym video, displaying his impressive muscular physique.
In the Instagram clip, Stallone laughed while admitting it had been a long time since he shared a workout video. He described the gym as both a “sanctuary” and a “church.” “We pray to get better, to feel stronger physically, so we can face challenges with confidence and determination,” he said. “Keep punching, see you soon.”
Stallone also acknowledged that staying fit at nearly 80 is not easy. “Every year it gets harder and harder, but that’s why you have to push harder and harder,” he wrote in the caption. “Blood, sweat, and tears.”
Fans quickly praised the actor for his dedication. One fellow actor commented, “It’s like a church for me as well. Physically, mentally, and spiritually, it improves life! Spending time around you shows the benefits of fitness as we age.” Another fan said, “We’d be lucky to look like Sly at his age,” while someone added, “Leading by example! Looking great, Sly!”
This fitness post comes amid Stallone reflecting on Hollywood’s past doubts about him. He shared with AARP that for nearly ten years, he struggled to find work. “Nobody wanted me after ‘Cop Land,’ not even my agents,” he said. “I was let go by CAA, and my personal manager said, ‘I can’t do anything for you. Nobody really wants you anymore.'”
Stallone recounted how studios dismissed the idea of continuing the “Rocky” franchise after “Rocky V” failed. “They said over their dead bodies,” he recalled. Even his wife questioned whether making the sixth film, “Rocky Balboa,” was a good idea. Yet Stallone pushed forward, proving resilience can overcome setbacks.
Through decades in Hollywood, Stallone remains a symbol of strength and determination, inspiring fans worldwide not only with his films but also with his relentless dedication to fitness and health.
