Private messages come to light
New court documents show that Taylor Swift used a sharp insult while talking about actor Justin Baldoni in a private text with Blake Lively. A judge unsealed the messages on Tuesday as part of an ongoing lawsuit.
1The case centers on Lively’s legal claims against Baldoni, her co star in the two thousand twenty four film It Ends With Us. Wayfarer Studios and other parties are also named in the suit, which has lasted for more than a year.
What the court filing says
In the filing submitted to federal court in Manhattan, Swift criticized Baldoni in a text sent to Lively. She suggested that he appeared nervous and expected trouble ahead.
Lively’s lawyers confirmed the wording of the message. However, they rejected the defense claim about its meaning and timing.
Lawyers dispute the context
The defense argues that Swift and Lively exchanged the texts while discussing a December two thousand twenty four New York Times article. That report accused Baldoni and a Wayfarer executive of running a smear effort against Lively.
In contrast, Lively’s legal team says that claim is wrong. They argue the defense twisted the context to fit its narrative.
So far, Swift’s representatives have not commented on the newly released texts.
Taylor Swift’s role in the film
Swift had limited involvement in It Ends With Us. She licensed one of her songs for the movie but took no part in production or casting.
Last year, her spokesperson stressed that point after lawyers attempted to subpoena Swift as a witness. The court did not move forward with that request.
Why the case keeps drawing attention
Because the lawsuit involves well known figures, public interest remains high. Each new filing adds pressure and fuels debate.
For now, the legal fight continues. More court action is expected in the coming months.
