In a forceful press conference on Friday, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Director-General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), stated that Pakistan’s security and sovereignty will not be sacrificed for political reasons.
Ten important lessons from his address are as follows:
- One man’s wishes cannot govern the state. According to Lt Gen Chaudhry, the state and its citizens cannot be left to the mercy of a single individual who is exclusively to blame for the resurgence of terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
- The state is too huge for politics.
The DG ISPR cautioned that it is unacceptable for anyone to think their politics are above the government.
