“When you have these sad days where you don’t want to do anything, it was this kind of day for me,” she said.

6-2,Svitolina, an Odesa native, defeated Wang Xinyu 6-2 6-1 at the competition while sporting a black ribbon around her top.

Svitolina wrote on Instagram, describing the match as one of the hardest of her life and writing, “Wimbledon has become black for me today.”

peopleThe attack on the children’s hospital in Kiev resulted in the deaths of at least 31 persons, including children.

Today is a really depressing day for all Ukrainians, as Svitolina, 29, emphasized during her news conference.

All I wanted was to be in my room, alone with my feelings, alone with everything.

Wimbledon reversed its position from a few months after the invasion started in 2022 and allowed Russian and Belarusian competitors to compete as “neutral” athletes last year.

Svitolina stated that she has been “living with this feeling for over two years” and that she feels bad when she celebrates her joys or accomplishments on the court.
