The polio worker was allegedly raped on Wednesday in the Allah Baksh Jakhrani hamlet, which is inside the boundaries of the Moladad police station, according to Jacobabad Deputy Commissioner Zahoor Murri. The DC went on to say that after the police got on the scene, they took the victim under heavy guard to James Hospital, where a medicolegal examination was performed.
The polio worker denied any sexual assault claims in a statement she sent to the media the day after the incident, saying she was the victim of theft of her phone and other valuables.
She claimed that a man robbed her of her cell phone and cash at gunpoint as she was on her way home from the last house on her list, where she had given polio drops to children. I was really traumatized.
