Despite her advanced age, Dolly Parton has been a mainstay in the country music industry for many years and has no intention of stopping anytime soon.
The singer-songwriter of “Jolene” recently told USA Today that she intends to work forever, saying, “I would only retire if I were sick or if my husband was sick and needed me.” The only thing that could cause me to retreat would be that.
In 1966, Parton tied the knot with retired businessman Carl Thomas Dean. She appears to be just as committed as ever as their 60th wedding anniversary draws near.
“GOD DIDN’T LET” DOLLY PARTON HAVE KIDS “SO THAT ALL KIDS COULD BE MINE,” according to her beliefs.
“For me, work is everything,” she stated to the site. That’s all my knowledge possesses. That’s what I do. It’s the manner in which everything has transpired.” Though she stated, “I love to sing, too, and I love to perform,” she feels that songwriting is her “gift”. For me, it’s all simply one thing.
Regarding her remarkable career, Parton said, “I was foolish enough to think it could be done, and I didn’t know it couldn’t be done, until I did it, as they say.” Being a country girl, I had labored in the fields and performed other menial labor because they were the tasks and things we had to complete at home. But I detested it all the way through. I was not fond of school.
