In a confessional statement to the court, a crucial witness in the Toshakhana II case claimed that PTI founder Imran Khan and his spouse, Bushra Bibi, told him not to deposit the gifts he got from Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman into the Toshakhana.
Brigadier (retd) Muhammad Ahmad, a former military secretary, said in his statement that the presents included a book, bottles of oud, dates, olive oil, and a Bulgari jewelry set.
He insisted that during the May 2021 Saudi visit, all objects were photographed in accordance with official protocol, with Ministry of Foreign Affairs staff in attendance.
He noted that the ministry formally and in writing notified the Prime Minister’s Office of the presents.
