Following the appointment of a new director, the dinosaur franchise promises a fourth installment in the epic Jurassic World.
After parting company with Deadpool 2’s David Leitch owing to creative differences, Universal Pictures has confirmed that Godzilla’s director will lead the forthcoming edition.
The film is written by David Koepp, the original Jurassic Park writer, and executive produced by Spielberg through Amblin Entertainment, with Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley producing through Kennedy-Marshall. It promises a ‘new era’ for the franchise.
Given that the company was looking for a filmmaker with experience handling huge productions and planned to begin production soon after David Leitch’s departure from the franchise, Edward emerged as the top contender.
Edward has expertise working with chaotic production, owing to Rogue One and Godzilla.
and his renowned work Monsterverse. The director also exhibited extraordinary efforts and his understanding of budgets and special effects with last year’s original thriller film The Creator, which grossed $100 million globally.
In light of this, Edward’s appointment as new director has set the Internet on fire, with fans flocking to X (formerly Twitter) to post their reactions to the announcement.
“THAT’S MY GOAT” is an acronym for Greatest of All Times, according to one user.
Another admirer was intrigued and said, “I can’t wait to shout ABSOLUTE CINEMA at the cinema,” along with a reaction photograph of film director Martin Scorsese raising his hands and captioned with the slogan.
A third person declared the film’s win, writing, “Rogue One and the Creator, yeah that’s a HUGE W” (W is an Internet slang for Win or Success).
Another commented on Edward’s Godzilla, saying, “Gareth Edward’s Jurassic World is about to be a f*** all-timer, just look at this s!”
Another fan commented, “Universal Studios hired the correct man for this position. I am ecstatic from the inside out. Hopefully a Gareth Edwards Jurassic World trilogy” (sp).
