HBO Announces Girls Limited Run Return
“I’ve missed these characters, but I haven’t been able to fully visualize them in the present for a long time. Then, around the time I turned forty, they began conversing with me while I was taking a shower. And as you may recall, it’s quite difficult to stop this fivesome once they start talking.
“It’s uncommon to have the opportunity to go back to something that transformed your life with the gift of hindsight and a whole new level of gratitude and understanding,” she continued. “I adore our HBO friends, these girls (and boy).”
From 2012 to 2017, Girls garnered 19 Emmy nominations and two wins, including outstanding casting, over the course of six highly publicized seasons.
Following the release of her best-selling memoir, Famesick, about duties and popularity during the show’s 2010s heyday, Dunham, who rose to prominence in the media after creating the show’s pilot at the age of just 23, is returning to the series.
Since the conclusion of Girls, Dunham has also appeared in the independent film Sharp Stick and the Netflix series Too Much.
