An investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mr. Townsend’s death is underway.
In observance of Mr. Townsend, West Brom players donned black armbands throughout Tuesday’s game against Middlesbrough, and supporters were asked to applaud in the 57th minute of the game at The Hawthorns.
Steve, his brother, posted on X, saying, “Last night was a difficult one for us, but @WBA handled everything brilliantly. The 57-minute homage to my brother will always be a special memory for me, as will the solo performance from the East.”
