Scottish rock band The Fratellis have cancelled their upcoming 20th anniversary UK tour after lead singer Jon Fratelli faced ongoing health problems.
The band shared the update through an official statement, confirming that Jon has been advised by doctors to rest and focus on recovery. Because of this, he cannot perform live at the moment.
The tour was planned to celebrate two decades since the release of their debut album, which helped establish the band as one of Scotland’s most recognisable rock acts.
Health Comes First for the Band
The Fratellis explained that Jon’s health issues are not new and require proper time away from touring. The band made it clear that this decision was difficult but necessary.
They reassured fans that the cancellation was not permanent. The band plans to reschedule the tour, and new dates will be announced once Jon fully recovers.
All tickets already purchased will remain valid for the rescheduled shows.
Strong Ticket Sales Before Cancellation
Before the announcement, the band had already sold out 15 out of 17 scheduled shows across the UK. The tour included major venues throughout February, with two final performances planned at the O2 Academy in Glasgow.
Fans showed strong support for the anniversary tour, highlighting the lasting popularity of the band and their music.
Summer Festival Appearances Still On Track
Despite the tour cancellation, The Fratellis confirmed that their summer festival appearances are still expected to go ahead. This includes their planned performance at the TRNSMT Festival.
The band remains hopeful that Jon’s recovery will allow them to return to the stage later this year.
A Legacy Built on Iconic Hits
The Fratellis are best known for hit songs such as Chelsea Dagger and Whistle for the Choir. Performing under the stage names Mince Fratelli, Jon Fratelli, and Barry Fratelli, the band has maintained a strong fan base since their debut.
Their music continues to receive airplay and festival attention, proving their long standing influence on British rock music.
