PESHAWAR: Following the recent protest by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) against the federal government, numerous of the KP police’s officers and executives were detained by Punjab and Islamabad police, placing the force in a difficult situation, as The News reported on Monday.
At least 11 KP police officers and 41 Rescue 1122 staff members were detained by the Punjab police for participating in a protest march in the state capital that was headed by KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.
The federal and Punjabi governments retaliated strongly against the members of the Imran Khan-founded party who had marched into Islamabad to stage a protest demonstration concurrently with the crackdown.
Because of the PTI’s protest, there have been days of instability in the federal capital, with officials even using firing squads.
