Maryam Nawaz, the chief minister of Punjab, denounced the violent events of May 9, 2023, calling them a deliberate plot to topple the government.
She said that at last, the “mastermind” of the incident, referring to PTI founder Imran Khan, had admitted to organizing and supervising the attacks. She added that his party was a “anarchist group” as opposed to a political organization whose objective is to harm the state through malevolent schemes.
According to the chief minister, Zaman Park was used as a terrorist training facility. She stated, “Training was given to make petrol bombs and to attack the state,” emphasizing that the assaults scheduled for May 9, 2023, were planned during those four months (during which a well-known figure pretended to be injured).Maryam enquired as to the nature of the nonviolent demonstrations that took place on May 9 and resulted in attacks on more than 200 military sites, the burning of air force jets, the destruction of corps commander homes, and the desecration of martyr memorials.
She mockingly said, “What a peaceful protest it was, in which more than 200 military installations were attacked.” She said that there was a plot behind the assault on martyrs’ memorials and the driving of Pakistan into default.
