His skull cast was used to create the reconstruction, which Historic Environment Scotland (HES) called the “most realistic” ever created.
Born on July 11, 1274, Robert I ruled Scotland as king from 1306 until his death in 1329 at the age of 54.
Against England, he led Scotland in the First War of Scottish Independence.
He took control of most of Scotland in 1310–1314 thanks to a string of military triumphs, and in 1314, he helped restore the country to an independent kingdom by defeating a much bigger English army led by Edward II at the Battle of Bannockburn.
Until Saturday, December 7, the 3D model will be on display in Dunfermline Abbey, the location of his burial.
..According to news, the model was created by combining scientific analysis, historical research, and the most recent developments in facial reconstruction methods.
The researchers was able to precisely determine the muscle formation from the placements of the skull bones by using a 3D laser scanner to scan the cast of his skull that was kept at The Hunterian museum in Glasgow.
