QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti denied reports that Ziarat Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Afzal and his son had been martyred, saying they were “incorrect” on Tuesday.
The martyrdom of Ziarat’s assistant commissioner and his son, who were kidnapped about a month ago, was reported on Sunday.
The father and son were reportedly killed by the kidnappers, who then left their bodies in the mountains. The chief executive of Balochistan responded to the report by stating that the “martyred” assistant commissioner sacrificed his life in the line of duty.
In a statement, he had said, “Those who murder innocent people and disturb the peace will not get away with it.”
