Pakistan’s Armed Forces honored the families whose sacrifice continues to be the cornerstone of the nation’s defense on the 60th Defence and fallen’ Day, paying heartfelt respect to the fallen and saluting the unwavering bravery of the country’s heroes.
A 31-gun salute was fired in the federal capital to start the day of national significance, which fell on the auspicious festival of Eid Milad-un-Nabi, the birthday of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Leading the tribute were Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, NI (M), HJ, Chief of the Air Staff; Admiral Naveed Ashraf, NI, NI (M), Chief of the Naval Staff; General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, NI, NI (M), Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC); and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff.
