John Driskell Hopkins, a founding member of the Zac Brown Band, expressed his concerns about artificial intelligence’s potential effects on society.
The 52-year-old artist, who was given an ALS diagnosis in December 2021, spoke about his nonprofit organization Hop On A Cure and offered his thoughts on the contentious discussion around artificial intelligence (AI) in an interview with News.
The three-time Grammy Award winner said he was “scared to death” by the ramifications of the technology, given how quickly it has become popular.
Hopkins recalled witnessing a recent back-and-forth exchange between a woman and a chatbot, which showed him how the technology could be used against people’s best interests.
The original member of the Zac Brown Band says he’s “scared to death” about modern technologies.
