While presenting the 46-year-old with his Hall of Fame induction, the team made the announcement.
Brady led the Patriots to six Super Bowl victories after being chosen with the 199th choice in the 2000 draft.
“[The statue] will stand alone in the plaza outside of the Hall of Fame to symbolise his position, not as the greatest in franchise history, but as the greatest in all of NFL history,” Robert Kraft, the owner of the Patriots, said.
Brady signed with the Tampa Bay Bucs in 2020 after leaving the Patriots, and in his first season there, he helped the team win the Super Bowl and was voted the game’s Most Valuable Player.
Six weeks after deciding to retire in 2022, he changed his mind and returned to the NFL for his 23rd and last season.
“I will always be appreciative. My name is Tom Brady. And I am a Patriot.” At the event held in the Patriots’ home stadium, Brady declared.
Former teammate Bill Belichick coached Brady during his time as a player for the Patriots.
“Let me make this crystal clear – there is no coach in the world I would rather play for than Bill Belichick,” said Brady.
