Rana Sanaullah, the Prime Minister’s Advisor on Political Affairs, has highlighted the “division” inside institutions and stated that the current state of politics in the nation is “satisfactory”.
Speaking on Tuesday’s “Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath” segment on Geo News, the Prime Minister’s adviser blamed the current state of affairs on the agitational politics of imprisoned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan.
The comments were made in reaction to PTI Chairman Gohar Khan’s claim that the party’s founders had consented to negotiate with the government in order to bring about political stability in the nation.
Additionally, [PML-N President] Nawaz Sharif stated that everyone ought to gather together for discussion. He stated, “Clashes and collisions happen; it has happened to us too,” and added that the PTI had worked “very hard” to resolve the issue.
According to Sanaullah, things would have turned out differently if the PTI hadn’t dissolved the assemblies in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa last year.
“If the events of May 9 hadn’t happened, would the situation still be the same?”
The lawmaker stated that the PTI was preparing to hold similar violent protests to those that occurred on May 9, 2018, the day that unrest broke out across the nation in response to Khan’s arrest from the Islamabad High Court (IHC) in connection with a corruption case.
