Lewis Ferguson, a Scotland international, has been awarded the Bulgarelli Number 8 Award, which is given to the top midfielder in Serie A for the current campaign.
The captain of Bologna had a fantastic season, leading his team to a Champions League berth before he sustained a season-ending knee injury in April.
Ferguson was one of the best players in the Italian top division before the injury, with six goals and four assists in 31 league games.
Sandro Tonali, Nicolo Barella, and Daniele De Rossi are among the previous recipients of the honor.
Due to surgery, the 24-year-old will not be participating in the Euros in Germany this summer.
