According to the Sun, Aaron Taylor-Johnson has formally offered the role of James Bond, making him the eighth actor to play the character since the franchise’s inception in 1962.
This formal offer has put an end to speculation about who will play Daniel Craig’s James Bond successor, with Tom Hardy, Henry Cavill, Cillian Murphy from Oppenheimer, and the Bullet Train star all being considered.
The British actor has not formally accepted the offer, according to a newspaper insider. “Bond is Aaron’s job, if he wishes to accept it. The formal offer is on the table, and they are waiting to hear back.
According to Eon, Aaron will sign his contract in the coming days, and they can begin preparing for the big reveal.
The publication reached out to Aaron last week before reports surfaced, and Aaron responded modestly but avoided direct answers, saying, “I find it lovely and wonderful that people picture myself in that role. I consider it as a huge complement.”
Aaron Taylor-Johnson began his acting career in the 2000s with The Apocalypse, then appeared in the 2008 teen film Angus, Thongs, and Perfect Snogging, and in 2022 starred in Bullet Train alongside Brad Pitt.
