Myers passed away “peacefully at home” on Wednesday, according to co-star and fellow motorbike rider Si King, who also made the announcement of his death.
King stated in a statement on X that his close buddy David, his family, and his wife Liliana were all “by his side.”
“I will miss him every day and the bond and friendship we shared over half a lifetime,” said the message.
“You are a light in this world and always will be, so I wish you god’s speed, brother. I’ll see you over there. I adore you.”
In May 2022, Myers revealed on the Hairy Bikers – Agony Uncles podcast that he had cancer, but he did not say which kind.
He stated in interviews conducted in 2023 that there had been occasions throughout his chemotherapy treatment when he had been too sick to walk and unstable to ride his motorcycle.
