As he met the squad at Buckingham Palace, the King, who is the leader of the Commonwealth, showed his concern and care for people impacted by Hurricane Beryl.
“We were honored to be invited, and it was a great opportunity for the whole team to be here,” captain Kraigg Brathwaite said following the audience with His Majesty.
Despite the devastation caused by Hurricane Beryl, we still want to cheer up West Indians and make them feel good during these trying times.
Speaking with the King on horses, Brathwaite said they had a “nice chat” and he hoped to “make the team.
The king expressed “heartfelt condolences” to the locals earlier this week in response to the hurricane’s dead toll and destruction.
In an attempt to learn more about the destruction, he spoke with the prime ministers of Grenada, Jamaica, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines on Friday.
It is recognized that the King has requested to be updated on the circumstances affecting those impacted by Hurricane Beryl and that he will probably speak with leaders again in the days to come.
The storm, which was the first Category 5 hurricane to form in the Atlantic on record, has prompted the UK to unveil a new help package worth up to £500,000 for Caribbean countries impacted.
