The West Indies women’s cricket team will travel to Karachi on April 14 to play eight white-ball matches at National Bank Stadium, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Wednesday.
The tourists will play a three-match ODI series beginning April 18, followed by the second phase of their tour, which will comprise five T20Is contested at the same site from April 26 to May 3.
This is the West Indies women’s team’s second tour to Pakistan since 2021, having previously played three one-day internationals in Karachi.
Meanwhile, the forthcoming ICC Women’s Championship 2022-25 series will be the PCB’s fourth home series, following visits from Sri Lanka, Ireland, and South African squads in June 2022, November 2022, and September 2023.
Tania Mallick, Head of Women’s Cricket, welcomed the guests, saying, “We extend a warm welcome to the West Indies women’s team to Pakistan for the upcoming series.” Hosting the fourth women’s championship series at home during the 2022-25 cycle demonstrates PCB’s commitment to developing women’s cricket and giving our players opportunity to excel on the international stage.”
“The forthcoming series against West Indies is not just about cricket; it’s about developing relationships and strengthening bonds between cricketing nations,” she said.
