Nikola Bartunkova, the runner-up in the 2023 Wimbledon girls’ singles competition, has been placed on a provisional ban for doping.
In both February and March, the 18-year-old Czech returned positive results for trimetazidine.
A metabolic modulator called trimetazidine is occasionally prescribed as a cardiac medicine.
Last year, Bartunkova secured her maiden tour victory by defeating Dayana Yastremska, ranked number 21 in the world, and in April, she achieved a career-high ranking of 226.
The Wimbledon juniors final of the previous year saw her defeated by American Clervie Ngounoue.
