Clashes between Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) workers in Karachi’s Nazimabad district resulted in at least one death and one injury, according to MQM-P.

The incident happened late on Sunday in the Nazimabad No 2 neighborhood. According to police, political parties are mobilizing their followers in advance of the elections on February 8 by canvassing, hosting public events, and hosting corner meetings. Geo News reported on this.

Conflicts broke out between the employees of the two political parties, according to the police, and amid the unrest, two cars were set on fire by unknown individuals.

They claimed that 48-year-old Faraz was the deceased person’s identity.

Additionally, a video of the event surfaced in which activists for the political parties are seen tossing chairs at one another.

The individual was declared dead when he arrived at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, and the authorities reported that a bullet wound to the head caused his death.

UC-incharge was killed when PPP employees opened fire at their office, according to MQM-Pakistan Rabita Committee member Taha Siddiqui.

He told the media outside the hospital, “The Peoples Party [PPP] cannot occupy the city through terrorism.”

A PPP employee’s attempt to take down their party’s banner, according to a MQM-Pakistan spokesman, allegedly sparked an argument between the two parties’ employees.

The representative did, however, state that their disagreement was resolved eventually.

The statement further stated that the PPP personnel returned after two hours with armed guards and used firing as a last resort, killing one of their employees.

The MQM-P stated that after the worker’s funeral prayer, a first information report (FIR) on the incident will be filed.

Senior MQM-P leader Mustafa Kamal told a press conference that after an argument about flag removal, the PPP employees brandishing Kalashnikovs started shooting at their members.

He asserted that MQM-P employees did not “even throw stones” at them in reprisal and that they were unarmed.

He said that Asim Hussain, the leader of the PPP, was behind the attack on the MQM-P employees.

The MQM-P leader continued, “I am admonishing for the last time that I will not allow my workers to suffer even a single scratch.”

MQM-P stated earlier in December of last year that PPP members had opened fire on its three workers, leaving one dead and several injured.

In a statement, the party said that while employees and leaders were engaged in election-related tasks, their election office in Machar Colony, one of the biggest slums in the port city of Karachi, was attacked.

In contrast, the police reported that there was a conflict between “two groups” in the neighborhood, resulting in the deaths of three persons. They also detained the primary suspect and his brother.

There have been violent outbursts during past election campaigns in the city, with numerous candidates and voters being the target of bombs and gunshots.
