Over the next few days, the Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Threads accounts of users will be blocked globally due to the ban, which was announced on Monday.
“We have extended our enforcement efforts against Russian state media outlets after giving it careful thought,” stated Meta, which had previously imposed restrictions on account activity.
Due to foreign meddling, Rossiya Segodnya, RT, and other associated entities have been permanently barred from using our apps worldwide.
News brands owned by Rossiya Segodnya include RIA Novosti, a Russian news service, and Sputnik.
News received an explanation from RT stating that Meta was “censoring information flow to the rest of the world”.
“Don’t worry, our ‘partisans,’ or guerrilla fighters as you may call them, will find the cracks to crawl through where they close a door, and then a window,” the spokesperson assured them.
“It’s cute how there’s a competition in the West—who can try to spank RT the hardest in order to make themselves look better,” they stated.
