World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) star Ava, the daughter of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, recently stated that she has received death threats as a result of the outrage against the company’s plot featuring her father.
Fans reacted negatively to The Rock’s recent replacement of WWE icon Cody Rhodes, who was scheduled to meet Universal Champion Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, according to the Daily Mail.
Fans have been booing references of The Rock during live performances, expressing their disappointment with the scheduling decision after two years of anticipation. This backlash has spurred a contentious discussion over the game.
After waiting two years for Rhodes to “finish his story,” fans are incensed that The Rock is facing Reigns.
As the general manager of WWE’s developmental brand NXT, Ava responded to the criticism on social media.
Ava wrote on X, the former name for Twitter, “Can ya’ll just leave me out of this ffs? I’m busy running a SHOW,” and then she wrote a follow-up message.
“Death threats over a situation i have nothing to do with … bffr.”
It has also been stated that if WWE’s long-term goal was to arrange a triple-threat bout including The Rock, Rhodes, and Reigns, then the company may be benefiting greatly from the fan response.
Additionally, Rhodes has gained the support of WWE United States Champion Logan Paul and another superstar Ricochet, who both contributed to the “#WeWantCody” hashtag that became popular on X for several days.
