KARACHI: On Sunday morning, there was light rain and thunder in a few areas of the city, and more rain is predicted for today.
Mauripur, North Karachi, Gulistane-e-Johar and the adjacent suburbs, Saddar, Soldier Bazar, Airport, and Clifton are among the places that saw thundershowers.
The city’s traffic police have been called in to prevent any accidents on the slick roads caused by the light rain.
Due to the possibility of accidents caused by slick roads, the police also advised motorcyclists to ride slowly.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reported that Surjani had the city’s highest rainfall total, at 26 millimeters.
North Karachi and Saadi Town recorded 15mm of rain, Masroor Base and Keamari 16mm, Nazimabad 21.2mm, Gulshan-e-Hadid 20mm, and Faisal Base 17mm.
The PMD reported that Jinnah Terminal was 1.2mm, Old Airport was 11.9mm, Orangi Town was 14.4mm, and University Road was 14.5mm.

The administration has finished making plans to deal with the rain, according to Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab.
The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) is also cleaning the drainage system, he added, and the water corporation’s equipment has been dispatched to various parts of Karachi.
Wahab continued, “The weekly leave for KMC employees has also been discontinued.” According to him, every department supports the directives from the chief minister.
