The majority of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s plains saw hot, muggy weather on Wednesday; Dera Ismail Khan and Bannu recorded the maximum temperatures of 44 degrees Celsius, making them the province’s hottest cities.
The Met Department reports that in the past 24 hours, Peshawar has seen a maximum temperature of 42 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 28 degrees Celsius. The pain was increased by the 50% humidity level. The plains of the province remained scorching, with Dera Ismail Khan being the hottest place.
For the following 24 hours, thunderstorms are predicted by the department to affect much of the province, offering a possible break from the intense heat.
The appropriate authorities have been instructed in advance of the impending weather changes.
The chief minister of KP has instructed all relevant ministries to finalize the preparations required to handle any emergency scenarios that can develop from probable monsoon season rainfall and floods.
Ali Amin Gandapur stressed the significance of following the province government’s Monsoon Contingency Plan, pleading with the district administrations to do so.
Although there is optimism for reprieve from the ongoing heat with the forecast of rain and thunderstorms, there is also anxiety about the likelihood of flooding. In order to guarantee the security and welfare of citizens throughout the province, authorities are on high alert.
