The moment has come to take “decisive actions” against the extremists, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Thursday, reinforcing the government’s determination to eradicate the nation’s terrorism problem.
The premier’s comments were made the day after two army officers and eleven other security personnel accepted martyrdom in the Orakzai district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during an intelligence-based operation against terrorists supported by India.
“No one can erase the line that the blood of martyrs has drawn: to fight for Pakistan,” he declared. He said that the armed forces, federal and provincial administrations, lawmakers, and civil servants are all at work around the clock. But if we don’t crush the head of terrorism and eradicate it entirely, then all of this work will be for nothing.
