KARACHI: Following a two-month and fourteen-day prolonged summer break, classes in Sindh’s private and public schools began again on Thursday.
Last month, the provincial government decided to prolong the summer holiday for schools until August 14. The summer holidays, which started on June 1 and ended on July 31, were previously scheduled.
Syed Sardar Shah, the Sindh Education Minister, encouraged students to put greater emphasis on their studies in a statement. Along with pleading with educators to carry out their duties honestly, he said that hiring instructors on the basis of merit enhanced the educational system.
The minister went on, “Sindh introduces teachers licence policy and other reforms for the first time in the country.”
