The Higher Education Commission (HEC) informed people on Tuesday that the extended deadline for applying to the centralized test to obtain apprenticeships at the nation’s top IT enterprises for graduates of computer science (CS) and information technology (IT) was set to expire tomorrow, January 3.
The commission last month extended the test’s enrollment deadline to January 3.
The test is being administered by the HEC in association with the National Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC), Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), Ministry of IT & Telecom (MoITT), Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), and Pakistan IT Industry Association (P@SHA), according to sources.
Students in Semester 7 of Computer Science and associated fields will take the centralized test via the online university system.
This is a component of a program that aims to improve employment prospects in both domestic and foreign markets by placing bright IT students in the IT sector where they may gain practical experience with cutting-edge technologies.
The test, according to HEC, is scheduled for January 7.
However, students who are currently enrolled in the seventh semester of BS/BE computers, or similar fields, meet the test’s qualifying requirements.
This portal is used to submit student applications.
It was requested of the students that the test’s focus areas be operating systems, databases, networking, software engineering, data structures, programming, and problem-solving/analytics.
An HEC representative advised the students to use the opportunity to secure an apprenticeship at one of Pakistan’s leading IT firms.
