President Donald Trump has arrived in the UK for his second state visit, which combines high-stakes diplomacy with a royal ceremony.
Warm remarks about his relationship with Britain, significant technological investments, and the planning for one of the biggest royal welcomes in recent history kicked off the trip.
Before taking out on Air Force One, Trump referred to the visit as a “honor” and said he had a “very good” relationship with the UK.
Trump praised the monarch as “an elegant gentleman” who “so well represents his country,” saying, “The main purpose of the visit is to see my friend, King Charles.”
Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper welcomed Trump and First Lady Melania at London Stansted Airport before they made their way to Winfield House.
