HHS Secretary Comments on President’s Fast-Food Diet
HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. recently joked about President Donald Trump’s unusual eating habits, saying during an interview that he doesn’t “know how he’s alive.”
Speaking on The Katie Miller Podcast, host Katie Miller asked Kennedy which Cabinet member had the “most unhinged eating habits.” Kennedy quickly pointed to the president, making Miller laugh.
Kennedy described Trump’s diet while traveling as mostly fast food, especially McDonald’s, combined with Diet Coke. “He has the constitution of a deity. I don’t know how he’s alive, but he is,” Kennedy added.
Kennedy Clarifies Trump’s Eating Habits at Mar-a-Lago and White House
He clarified that Trump generally eats healthier meals when at Mar-a-Lago or the White House. “If you travel with him, you see that he’s pumping himself full of poor-quality food, yet he remains energetic and active,” Kennedy said.
Kennedy has previously commented on Trump’s fast-food habits, noting that food provided during campaign travel is especially poor. “Campaign food is always bad, but airplane meals are basically poison,” he said in 2024.
White House Responds to Kennedy’s Remarks
White House spokesperson Kush Desai backed Kennedy’s comments, noting Trump’s golf championships and physical reports demonstrate his exceptional health and energy levels.
Trump’s Health and Fitness Under Scrutiny
The president’s health has drawn attention recently, especially after his October MRI at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. It was Trump’s second checkup in 2025, following an April visit in which Navy Capt. Sean P. Barbabella reported he “remains in exceptional health.”
Trump, who will turn 80 in June, is currently the oldest elected president in U.S. history. His weight has fluctuated slightly, from 244 pounds in 2020 to 224 pounds this year, according to his physician. The president also reportedly takes high doses of aspirin as a preventative measure for heart health
