On Tuesday, US President Donald Trump stated that he thinks Ukraine can retake all of the land Russia has stolen since its invasion with the help of NATO and the European Union.
Trump has already stated that in order to end the war, both Kyiv and Moscow would need to give up territory. He made this statement at his meeting with Ukraine’s leader at the United Nations earlier on Tuesday.
“The original borders from where this war started, with time, patience, and the financial support of Europe and, in particular, NATO, is very much an option,” Trump said in a post on his Truth Social platform.
Trump criticized Russia’s war prosecution in the post, claiming that it had been fighting “aimlessly” in the conflict.
