When Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado dedicated her Nobel Peace Prize to Donald Trump on Friday, recognizing his support for Venezuela’s democratic movement and his role in the Gaza peace project, the US president’s ambition for the Nobel Prize took an unexpected turn.
“I dedicate this prize to the suffering people of Venezuela and to President Trump for his decisive support of our cause!” Machado declared in a statement that was shared on X.
“Today more than ever, we rely on President Trump, the American people, the peoples of Latin America, and the democratic nations of the world as our principal allies to achieve freedom and democracy,” she continued. “We are on the threshold of victory.”
