Abdul Mannan, also known as Hakeemullah, was a significant figure in the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. He was slain in the northeastern region of Kunar, Afghanistan, sources said News on Wednesday.
The sources said that the terrorist, who was slain in Afghanistan’s Asadabad region, belonged to the TTP’s Malakand Shura and was engaged in extortion, target assassination, fire at security checkpoints, and landmine explosions in Bajaur.
According to the accounts, he was Azmatullah Mehsud’s right hand and was instrumental in directing terrorist activities in Bajaur.
According to the reports, the terrorist joined the TTP in 2007 and has since participated in multiple attacks on security personnel and unarmed people.
The sources also claim that Tariq, also known as Asad, the brother of Mannan, is connected to the banned TTP.
It should be mentioned that the TTP is Pakistan’s most prominent terrorist group. Terrorists in Afghanistan are currently hiding out in Kunar, Nuristan, Paktika, Khost, and other parts of the nation.
The assassination of Abdul Mannan occurs nearly a week after law enforcement officials carried out an intelligence-based operation (IBO) to thwart the TTP’s attempts to open offices in Balochistan.
The Counterterrorism Department (CTD) reports that intelligence services have also apprehended a number of dangerous terrorists, including those who have involved very valuable and sought-after targets.
Authorities disclosed that the most wanted and infamous TTP commander, Khawarij’s Shura, was among those apprehended.
