When a United Nations vehicle in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dera Ismail Khan steered clear of a picket that some unidentified armed men had set up nearby on Tuesday, it was met with gunfire.
According to sources in the police and the community, the incident happened inside the boundaries of DI Khan’s Hatala Police Station. When it was attacked, the UN truck was out gathering water samples.
The personnel who were not identified were halting and inspecting passenger cars in the vicinity. When the armed guys inside the vehicle urged the driver to leave after spotting the suspicious people, they opened fire from behind. One of the bullets struck the car’s tires.
