In an effort to curb the abuse of unregistered mobile phones, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has started a new campaign and issued a warning that all such devices will soon be removed from service.
Users have a brief opportunity to register their devices and prevent any disruptions, according to the authority.

PTA urges citizens who continue to use unregistered cell phones to take immediate action. The regulator has warned that unregistered gadgets might result in major legal repercussions for their owners in addition to being barred from mobile networks.
Officials emphasized the importance of mobile registration for both national security and user safety.
