US Ambassador Mike Huckabee told Reuters on Friday that the United States has discussed with Gulf Arab nations the prospect of administering Gaza after the battle is done.
A decision on a permanent system will be made later, according to Huckabee, who claimed discussions had taken place for an interim governmental structure incorporating Gulf Arab states, possibly with the US playing a supervisory role.
It’s a conversation. It is not something that Israel, the government, or anybody else has acknowledged. Nothing that is prepared for signature is known to me,” he remarked.
Israel hasn’t made it clear how it wants Gaza to be run after almost two years of conflict.
