Wasim Akram, the former captain of Pakistan, expressed hope on Thursday that India would pay Pakistan a visit for the ICC Champions Trophy, which is scheduled for February of the next year.
Details state that Akram, who is regarded as the “Sultan of Swing,” stated: “Everyone in Pakistan is excited to have India visit.” India should come to Pakistan to compete for the Champions Trophy, hopefully.”
“The stadiums are being renovated, and there are excellent facilities for the Champions Trophy here in Pakistan. Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), initiated the process of building the venues for the massive event.”
“I feel that this will be the massive tournament and turn out to be quite vital for Pakistan for the betterment of the country,” said Akram.
Akram continued: “I am having that belief that all the teams will visit Pakistan to play the Champions Trophy.”
He emphasized that politics and cricket should be kept apart.
“I would like to say to all the teams, fans and media that come and see that the facilities here are so good,” said Akram.
