The messaging program WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta, is working on improving its channels in a future release. According to WABetaInfo, an optional feature to add a verification badge is in development.
For Android users, a feature that will enable business accounts to display a verified badge on their channels is currently under development for WhatsApp.
Businesses can activate badges for their channels by subscribing to Meta Verified, according to the WhatsApp news tracker.

WhatsApp business accounts will soon have a new screen with the ability to add a verified badge to their channels, as seen in this screenshot.
It should be mentioned that businesses will soon have the sole option to sign up for Meta Verified, which will grant them additional benefits and a verification symbol for their profiles.
However, individual users and non-business accounts will not be able to use the verified badge option.
According to WABetaInfo, the choice to enable companies to enhance their channel presence by adding a verified badge through the Meta Verified membership is a strategically important one.
“Businesses will gain increased prominence through the verification checkmark, indicating authenticity, and it seems they will also be added to the channel directory,” stated the statement.
Businesses will benefit from the potential to increase their credibility and become more easily discoverable on the platform.
