Leclerc expressed his opinion that Ferrari had a “best shot” of taking on Red Bull this season following a successful day.
“I don’t feel great,” he said following the session. It’s probably the worst session I’ve had in a while. It felt quite good in P1. The first run of P1 felt like the greatest the car had ever felt, and then things kept getting worse. It was difficult, as we made some significant adjustments to P2.

“After that session, I feel the least confident I have ever felt with this car, but there are positives from the P1 run we did.”

It had been “not a good day,” according to team principal Toto Wolff.
